![]() After about one year we found it and Scott was great and a pleasure to work with, and he was very instrumental in the closing of this house. Scott was very patient and understood what we were looking for, which was actually a needle in a haystack. “My husband and I can't thank Scott Cronk enough for all he did in helping us with the closing of our mountain house in Boone. We enjoy working with him and would gladly recommend Scott to anyone interested in buying in this area.” Scott said of this one, it is all usable, something definitely not true for any of the others. Several places ended up on our shortlist, and any would have been great. ![]() Scott knows the area well and offered helpful insights on the land he showed us. He was consistently helpful, patient, and responsive, never pushy. One thing led to another and we found ourselves working with a wonderful realtor, Scott Cronk. “A friend showed us around Ashe County last September and introduced us to a great group of local folks at a diner he frequents. I enjoy using my knowledge of the natural wonders of this area to help others find the perfect place in the mountains where they can enjoy life to the fullest. Our family is engaged in all kinds of outdoor pursuits including paddling the New River, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, camping, and hiking. Aaron is a 2011 graduate of Ashe County High School and Mahaley attends Ashe County Middle School where Leeann teaches. The small town atmosphere, good schools, cool temperatures, and great scenery appealed to us. We decided to move permanently to the Blue Ridge Mountains in 2005 when I started working in real estate.Īfter careful consideration of many areas in the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains, Leeann and I chose Ashe County as the perfect place to raise our family. However, the mountains kept calling to my wife Leeann and me. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in Biology and Natural History, I worked for 17 years in non-profit administration, living in several communities across North Carolina. The two of us are humbled and excited about the future.Having grown up in the Piedmont of North Carolina, I came to the mountains over 30 years ago to attend college and escape the heat and humidity of the “flat lands”. We were joined by artist Judy Tuwaletstiwa, Barbara Groth founder of Nomadic School of Wonder and musician Lorraine Weiss, who opened with an improvisational saxophone piece for the audience.Īmazingly, all of our events were completely sold out, as were all of the books! We are so grateful to have had the opportunities to hear so many stories about the power of the arts. The last leg of the tour took us to Santa Fe at Bishop's Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection. That evening SFMOMA San Francisco Museum of Modern Art hosted us in the White Box space where Laura Inserra played the hang to open a lively conversation with the Curator of Design and Architecture Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher. In San Francisco we had a great discussion at SHACK15 moderated by Rimma Boshernitsan as part of her in-depth Dialogue Series. We tucked in a stop at The Backroom Berkeley jazz club for a memorable KPKA event with Stanford's VP of the Arts Deborah Cullinan. Next we stopped off at ArtCenter College of Design to share the book with students and faculty. Then we were off to LA at Chromasonic, with an immersive experience and beautiful spoken word piece by IN-Q, moderated by Fast Company Global Design Editor Mark Wilson. We began at the fabulous Book Passage Cafe and Wine Bar in Marin, California in discussion with the talented Tiffany Shlain. ![]() Here are a few images of the west coast "rock tour". So far beyond our greatest dreams (and we dream big) LOL. The response to the launch of Your Brain on Art has been extraordinary.
